Naval and Maritime
The World Wide Web Virtual Library: Naval and Maritime: Piracy Disclaimer

Please be aware that pirates are not the dashing, romantic figures that popular culture has made them. They are mean, evil people who prey on the hard work and sweat of others. Pirates not hesitate to kill, maim or torture their victims and their only true interest is profit at the expense of others. Anyone who doubts the existance of evil in our world has never been boarded at sea by pirates or even stood an eight-hour watch on the fantail cradling a repeating shotgun while enroute to Singapore from Djakarta. Pirates are the enemy of all true seafarers and should NEVER be glamorized or romanticized. We have no responsiblity for links that glamorize or romanticize piracy, and we urge the visitor to pirate sites to bear in mind at all time that pirates are in many senses the most pure embodiment of evil in our world.
